Troia Foods

The conversation: Troia Dairy Distributing reached a milestone in their company’s history when the next generation moved into leadership. Troia Dairy started business in 2001 distributing primarily dairy products. After a few years in the business they began to partner with more suppliers and went on to distribute non-dairy categories and other fine foods.

When they came to Schipper Design, Troia Dairy was planning to expand their service area from Monterey Bay to the San Francisco Bay area, and needed to increase their resources to do so. They wanted their family business to continue to be successful and felt it was the right time to reposition for the future. Ultimately, Troia wanted to be the dairy and specialty food distributor of choice in the greater Monterey Bay, and south Santa Clara valley region.

The position: Many of Troia’s current customers were not aware that they distributed more than dairy products and Troia did not have communication materials in place to get the word out about the quantity of products offered for delivery. Overall, they felt that the “Dairy” in their name limited them and was causing a disconnect in the minds of their existing and potentially new clients.

Enter Schipper Design: Troia Dairy came to us asking for an updated name, image and new collateral. Our first conversation with Troia Dairy centered on their name. Did the name hinder their new goals and direction? Everyone agreed it was time for a change.

The solution: Position Troia Foods for the future, redefine their brand, develop a new logo, and key messages to promote the business and introduce the next generation to their current clients.
